Robert's Acroyear parts

Bryan Wilkinson: Giant Acroyear I think this should be the same scale as the new Biotron (as sort of a counterpart) and have features designed so they can be easily interchanged with each other. I think it would be great if GA still retained the basic components of the old toy, too (Plane, 2 figure- arms, and a weapon platform) or something very similar. He should in the very least be transformable into the jet and should have the retractable wingpack like the old one, IMHO. But in robot form, yeah he should be a powered suit type robot. Perhaps Acroyear and/or Acroyear 2 could actually merge with it so their arms and feet plug into manipulator 5mm interface sockets (you remove their feet and hands and plug the pegs into GA's "control system"--so they sort of fuse with the robot).

Dave Waugh: I think another distinct feature should be the Giant Acroyears head. Maybe whack out all the rest, modify it all to hell, but keep the head basically the same. And of course, 5 mm compatibility all around. And old acroyear should be able to fit inside just as easy as a new one. Maybe 5mm holes for the legs to pop onto, after the rollers are removed. I really want a mini Biotron (have I pressed that point too much yet?;) how about a really souped up large scale Biotron battle suit for the mini Biotron to drive? Giant Acroyear versus Biotron deluxe Toys R Us set?!?

Gordon Smuder: I am scanning a bunch of stuff I did in '97 just before the Micro-con in Chicago for a letter I gave to Marty Abrams. I can even post the letter I gave him as well if you folks are interested. I think I managed to present the general view (as I saw it at the time) of Micro-collectors. Of course, I haven't re-read it since then, so I may be mistaken!!! :) I despise the whole "no rivets" dictum handed down by the big companies. These are the same litigation-paranoid suit-monkeys who insist that every toy be tied into it's vacuum form tray lined box with a minimum of four twist ties and, if possible, a zip-tie or two. Like Mike J. mentioned to me a while ago, "God forbid that the toy LEAP from it's packaging and poke some poor child's eye out".

Ken Lilly: different, which is exactly the direction a line like this would have to take in order to be sellable in today's market, as we are learning very harshly with the lower than desired sales on Series One. Just wanted ot basically throw it out there that different is better, simply because it gives us a new angle of approach with retailers and buyers.
