The power of magnetism engulfs the Microverse! In 1977, Mego introduced a new line of figures into the ever-growing world of the Micronauts, the "Magnos". Based on the Takara Geag figure from their Magnemo line, these new characters featured a new twist to the interchangeability feature; magnetic ball/socket joints. The head /arms/legs were all held to the torso via magnetism, which allowed each figure to switch parts. The figures in the line also came with a horse counterpart based on Geag's stallion Panzeroid. While the figures featured five basic magno-joints, the horses only had three. The most important, lying beneath the head/neck. When removed, two magnetic balls were exposed (uh-oh!) and the figure (sans legs) could be placed into the horse torso to form a centaur. All stallions came with magnetically side mounted missile launchers, and a set of four wheels that replaced the legs to form a tank. The figures featured the classic Japanese spring loaded firing fists, small belly missile, and also came with a backpack. The Magnos towered over the previous 3 ¾" figures at a whopping 6 1/2", and being this big, they were dubbed the leaders of the different micro armies.
